Jennifer Carpenter Bio

American actress Jennifer Leann Carpenter, born December 7th, 1979. Her most famous work is her role in the roles of Debra Morgan and Rebecca Harris in Showtime's Dexter. She was cast as Erica Shepherd, a leading role in NBC's drama The Enemy Within. Carpenter's performance in The Exorcism of Emily Rose was the most talked about. She was awarded the 2006 MTV Movie Award for "Best Frightened Performance", and also received an "Hollywood Life Breakthrough Award". She was also awarded the "Breakout Performer" at the 2006 Scream Awards. In 2007, she began dating her Dexter co-star Michael C. Hall. They were married on the night of New Year's Eve 2008 in California. In January 2009, they made their first public appearance as a couple the 66th Golden Globe Awards. Hall and Carpenter issued a December 2010 statement announcing they had declared divorce following having been separated "for some time". The divorce was finalized in December 2011 due to unresolved disagreements. However, the couple remain close friends. Carpenter and Seth Avett, musician, were announced as engaged and expecting their first child on February 10, 2015. Carpenter revealed in August of 2015 that she had given the birth of a son in May and that she was eight-and–a-half months pregnant while filming the pilot episode on Limitless. Carpenter and Avett were married in May 2016.
