Padma Lakshmi Bio

Padma Parvati Lakshmi was born on September 1, 1970, in Chennai, India. Lakshmi was divorced by her parents when she was 2. To avoid the stigma associated with divorce in India her mother emigrated to the United States. Lakshmi was with her grandparents from Chennai two years before moving to the United States. Both of her parents divorced later, and she now has a younger half brother and a half-sister from her father. Lakshmi who's name is the Hindu goddess of wealth, prosperity and success, was born in New York. She then grew up with her mother and stepfather in Los Angeles. Every year, she traveled to India to visit relatives for a few more months. Padma Lakshmi started acting in 1999. The first film she appeared in was "Figlio di Sandokan" which was a film about the life of an Italian pirate. Then she was given the role of "Caraibi" (Pirates Blood Brothers), which is a drama about 17th-century pirates. In 2001, she played in a comedy role supporting the disco singer in  the film 'Glitter.' Padma has a child, Krishna Thea Lakshmi Dell along with Adam Dell. Adam Dell is a venture capitalist. Krishna was conceived on 20 February 2010. She also dated Teddy Forstmann (ex-chairman, CEO of IMG). Lakshmi has a son with American venture capitalist Adam Dell. Lakshmi disclosed that her daughter's father is Dell. The girl said to her daughter, "Everything is better when she's there." "Anything that happens between the beginning of the day to the end. I'm not sure I have an interest in anything other than her.
