Maureen O'Hara Biography

 Maureen O'Hara, an American actor and singer of Irish heritage, was a well-known figure. The green-eyed beauty with flaming red locks was well-known for her passionate and fiery performances in a variety of American films. Her beauty and grace were highly praised. She was also referred to as the 'Queen Of Technicolor in Hollywood. Her screen appearances reflect her brave, strong character. She was determined to be recognized and survival within a male-dominated society. She was known as "the tough Irish lady" and she did not compromise on her respect for others in order to get the roles she was entitled to due to merit. She stood up for the injustices and discrimination against female actors during her film career. She also gained lots of followers. Her autobiography, 'Tis Herself', published in 2004 gave an honest and authentic account of her entire experience, including her struggles while climbing the ladder to achieve success. She was an adventurous lady who didn't hesitate in performing her own stunts. She starred in over 60 films and became a cult celebrity across the globe. After leaving Parra and her husband, she got married to Charles F. Blair Jr. in 1968. He was a brigadier in the past and chief pilot. He was also an innovator in transatlantic aviation. In the early years of their marriage, she decided to take a break from her career. Blair, however, was killed in a tragic plane accident in 1978. O'Hara's joy was only temporary. The same year, she was also diagnosed as having uterine cancer and had to undergo urgent surgery. She was successful in recovering. Her health deteriorated in the course of time and she was later diagnosed with six heart attacks and short-term memory loss and diabetes mellitus type 2. On 24 October 2015, O'Hara died peacefully at Boise, Idaho, from natural causes at the age of 95.
