Bonnie Wright

Bonnie Francesca Wright, born 17 February 1991, is an English actress. She is also a director, model activist as well as an actress. Wright is most well-known for her role in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. She was in the role for 10 years before moving on to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 (2011). Wright has appeared in numerous independent films like Before I Sleep (2013) and The Sea (2013). The films received mixed reviews. Wright made her stage debut as the lead actress in Peter Ustinov's The Moment of Truth at the Southwark Playhouse in 2013.Wright graduated from the University of the Arts London in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in filmmaking. After graduating from University of the Arts in London in 2012, she began making short films with the production company BonBonLumiere. Her first project in the direction of a director was the coming of age drama Separate We Come, Separate We Go (2012), starring David Thewlis, which was released at the Cannes Film Festival to critical praise. Wright also directed Know Thyself (2016) starring Christian Coulson and Sextant (2016). Both films focused on emotional and natural landscapes as their themes. Wright's trilogy, Phone Calls, premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2017. Medusa's Ankles (2018) starring Kerry Fox, Jason Isaacs and based upon A. S. Byatt's The Matisse Stories. She also produced music videos for Scarlett Johansson, Pete Yorn and Sophie Lowe. Wright has earned recognition for her environmental activism; she also serves as an ambassador for two charities: Greenpeace and Lumos.
