Gillian MacLaren Jacobs

Gillian MacLaren Jacobs was born on October 19, 1982. She is an American actress. She is most well-known for her performances as Britta Perry in the NBC comedy series Community (2009-2015), Mickey Dobbs on the Netflix romantic comedy series Love (2016-2018) and Atom Eve on the Amazon animated series Invincible (2021). Mimi-Rose was her regular part in the fourth season of the HBO comedy-drama Girls (2012-2017). She has also been seen in films like Life Partners (2014), Hot Tub Time Machine 2 (2015) and Don't Think Twice (2016). Gillian MacLaren Jacobs, was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on October 19, 1982. Martina Magenau Jacobs is her mother and works at Carnegie Mellon University in alumni relations. Her father, William F. Jacobs Jr. was an investment banker. Her father was killed in the year 2013. She was raised by her mother in Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania. Her family was the owners of the Erie Brewing Company (not to be confused with the subsequent brewery that bears the same name) which was where her grandfather, John Martin Magenau Jr., served as CEO and president until the brewery ended in 1978.Jacobs began her studies in acting at the age of 4 and attended weekend acting classes at the Pittsburgh Playhouse while growing up. She was often a performer at the Pittsburgh Public Theater. There she won the public's Shakespeare Monologue Contest. That resulted in her playing Titania in their production of A Midsummer Night's Dream. After having graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School in the year 2000, she relocating to New York City to attend the Juilliard School, where she was awarded a BFA degree in 2004.
