Rena Sherel SOFER
Rena Sherel Sfer is an American actress
from the US. She is best known for her roles on American daytime TV, occasional
guest appearances on television and made-for-television films. Sofer was
presented with a Daytime Emmy Award by CBS in 1995 for her performance as Lois
Cerullo, the role she played in the soap-opera General Hospital. Since 2013,
she has played Quinn Fuller on the CBS soap the show The Bold and The
Beautiful. Sofer was the daughter of Susan Sofer (a psychologist professor) and
Martin Sofer (a Conservative rabbi). After the divorce of her parents, her
family moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In 1970, she moved with her brother
David and her father to Teaneck in New Jersey. They lived in Western
Pennsylvania when Sofer was five years old. They lived in Ambridge,
Pennsylvania, where her father directed the Beth Samuels Jewish Center. In the
following years, she attended the Frisch School in Paramus, New Jersey, which
is a coeducational Mordern Orthodox Jewish high-school. Sofer was raised in
North Bergen where her father was the synagogue's rabbi Temple Beth El. After
graduating from North Bergen High School she went on to Montclair State
College. Sofer played Lois Marie Cerullo for the first time on General
Hospital. Her first appearance was in 1993 as a manager of a band. Her first
major role was that of Rocky McKenzie in the daytime soap show Loving
(1988-91). Her most famous role is her part in General Hospital as Lois Cerullo
(December 15, 1993 – September 24, 1996). She was later a guest star (February
7-17, 1997; September 30 - October 2, 1997). In 1995, Sofer won a Daytime Emmy
Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in the Drama Series for her
performance in the role of Lois. Sofer was invited to join CBS' soap show The
Bold and the Beautiful in the newly created role as Quinn Fuller. Her first
episode aired on July 12. Sofer has been a support cast member/guest star in a
several high-profile primetime television series, including Seinfeld and
Melrose Place. The first episode of her debut aired on July 12.
