Zooey Deschanel
Zooey Claire
Deschanel (born January 17, 1980) was an American actress, model and singer.
Her film debut was in Mumford (1999) and had an appearance in the film of
Cameron Crowe Almost Famous (2000). Deschanel is well-known for her deadpan
parts in comedy films, like The Good Girl (2002), The New Guy (2002), Elf
(2003), The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2005), to Launch (2006), Failure
to Launch (2006), Yes Man (2008), 500 Days of Summer (2009) and Our Idiot
Brother (2011). She has also ventured into drama films like Manic (2001), All
the Real Girls (2004), Winter Passing (2006) The Bridge to Terabithia(2007),
The Happening (2008) as well as The Driftless Area (2014). Jessica Day was her
main character in the Fox sitcom New Girl between 2011 and 2018. The show
garnered three Golden Globe Awards nominations, along with Primetime Emmy
Awards nominations. Deschanel was a member of jazz group If All the Stars Were
Pretty Babies for a couple of years beginning in 2001. In 2006, Deschanel
teamed up with M. Ward to form She & Him, and later released their
debut album, Volume One in the year 2008. The duo have released five albums in
the time since including Volume Two (2010) and A Very She & Him
Christmas (2011). Volume 3 (2013) was their last album. Classics 2014 was their
fifth album.
