Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was TV personality and former chef in the Institute of Culinary Education and in the past, she taught cooking. The host of her show is Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Ann Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef featuring her distinctive spiky blond locks and pumped up appearance, offers easy techniques anyone can learn. Chef Burrell has worked in several of the most prestigious restaurants located in New York, studied the tradition of Italian cuisine, and the culinary landscape in Italy, and battled on Food Network's Iron Chef America. As a child in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was inspired by food. She pursued her passion for the restaurant industry by enrolling in The Culinary Institute of America after obtaining a degree in English and Communications from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. She says "I thoroughly enjoyed my time as a Culinary Institute Of America student. I enjoyed every moment." I was never able to learn or be a better cook than I did. Chef Burrell, after graduating from the Culinary Institute for Foreigners in Italy was employed for a year in Umbria in Umbria at La Taverna del Lupo and Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, the Michelin-starred restaurant. The time she spent in Italy made her more aware and appreciate Italian philosophy and culture, and this has left an impact on her culinary perspective. Burrell served as a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board to brighten the lives of kids facing challenges. Burrell is also an Juvenile Research Foundation celebrity ambassador where she advocates for education about children with diabetes. As a guest speaker and instructor, she travels across the U.S. to share her love for cooking and professional career. Anne often has mentioned throughout her professional career she's extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to share with others what is essential to her.
